CENTER FOR PROMOTION OF SCIENCE

Competition, Selected project. Belgrade (2010)

The idea of ​​the creation of the Center emerges from the need to bring science closer to the population, as a necessary condition to improve the general knowledge and ensure the technological progress of the country. The competition involves the implementation of a series of buildings belonging to the University of Belgrade and the design of the Center.

This is composed of an open central space, from which you can immediately access all the activities that the Center houses. Each of these activities is individualised on a circular plant construction, which refers to the geometry of nature, and allows transitions of great fluidity. The space between these constructions is closed with large glass panes.

This composition implies that the center is understood more as a meeting of different people and identities, a small city, than a monolithic institution.

The element that combines all these constructions is the deck, conceived as protective sky that floats freely on the Center.

Large metal construction, made of steel sheets and hollow beams, which faithfully corresponds to the geometry of the project.
