TWO HOUSES IN “EL CASCO VELLO”

Rúa Cruz Verde, Vigo (2002-06)

Located within the ambit of the historical city of Vigo, in the upper part, marginal and at the same time central in the actual city. The four-storey houses form a corner between two narrow streets, with little light and steep slope, surrounded by tall buildings.

Inside we look for light and privacy, for this we propose the location of the living areas in the upper part of the house where a double height space with a large skylight is created.

Behind the existing facade of stone we build  a wall of concrete. This new wall together with the stone ones supporting the staircase, and the roof and slabs form the structure and house inside all the facilities, defining visually and constructively the interior of the houses.
