REHABILITATION OF PAZO DE CEA AND ITS ENVIRONMENT

Nigrán (2010-15)

The Pazo de Cea is located on a terrain of about three hectares in Nigrán. Its construction begins in XVII century, undergoing successive extensions in the following centuries. The project proposes the recovery and conditioning of both the main building of the Pazo and its annexes and the gardens and lands surrounding it, which will have a tourist use, as well as the construction of a new pavilion of celebrations.

The first steps are, as always, to study and evaluate what exists. We found a woodland of enormous interest, water courses, geometric paths of abandoned gardens and more spontaneous groves. Recovering and valuing all these elements is the basis of our work, looking for routes that allow us to appreciate this wealth without altering it.

In the building of the pazo we return to recurring themes, recovery of the original proportions, cleanliness, value … change much so that, apparently, nothing has changed.
