HOTEL FOR NATURE IN THE PILGRIMS WAY TO SANTIAGO
Os Valos, Palas de Reis (2012-presente)
We face a series of buildings at the foot of the Camino. Large house, porch, stove, oven, adapting to each other in an organic way, with the same order as the cutlery, glasses, dishes on a table once they have been used. Beyond, the bowl-shaped terrain is falling to the north, between centennial oak trees.
In the expansion of these buildings for hotel of the nature our proposal internalizes this law and continues it. A new body contained in the triangle of land that is at the foot of the Way and the bowl remains intact. This body is, like the preexisting ones, of clear and self-contained geometry, and is related to them by their position and by the complementarity of uses.
We buried it so it would not drown the original set, and construct an architecture of smooth transitions, from the road and through the buildings, to a yard full of vegetation, the flight of the deck and the curved geometry lead us to a more intimate architecture , from where the landscape is offered to us in its maximum splendor.
