In a project where the main users are children under three years old, orientation and general functioning must be produced through easily recognizable elements, with a clear presence that contributes to stimulation and curiosity.
The starting element is the class, which is strongly individualized. The grouping of classes produces common spaces that are filled with nooks and crannies, perfect for playing, it is the kind of enclosed and protective space that children like to put up with (the Smithsonians talked about spaces to be scrubbed).
Geometric and sensory variations, other than the light and sound intensities, will create different play areas and preferred sites.
The deck serves to unify all these pieces and create a smooth transition between interior and exterior that would correspond to the way of life of the school (indoor play area, covered area, south facing playground).
